Sorry, I’ve been away for a bit dealing with family… but the recent elections may have given us all a boost of encouragement, although the fecklessness of Democratic leadership, both in failing to support popular (and winning!) candidates across the nation, and in the shutdown fight (but…was it?) puts a bit of a damper on our hopes.
Clearly we need to keep speaking, and louder, so they get the message – without wishful distortion through the business-as-usual filter which has led the party on its long unfortunate scramble of rightward appeasement (often mischaracterized as “appealing to their base”). I’ll try to keep this site better updated to facilitate that process.
Upcoming Protests and Rallies:
- NY-17 Protect Your Healthcare Rally at Lawler’s Rockland office Wednesday Nov. 19 from 10:45 to noon, hosted by at least 2 organizations (Citizen Action of New York and Empire State Voices). You can sign up on Mobilize, or just go!
- Washington D.C. Nov 20-22 Rally to Remove the Regime: https://www.removetheregime.com/
- Armchair Boycott, Nov 27 thru Dec 1: WE AIN’T BUYING IT https://weaintbuyingit.com/
- Protest at 4 Corners in Nanuet every Saturday from 12 to 1 p.m. (Usually listed on Indivisible Rockland FB group)
- See https://www.mobilize.us/ and https://www.fiftyfifty.one/events for more protests near you!
- Please note that we are a loose, cooperative group of ordinary people; we have loined the Visibility Brigade and follow their guidelines for groups; we are not part of Indivisible Rockland, have no formal affiliation with them, and are not subject to nor responsible for their administrative policies or political positions (some of which seem to divisively differ from the national organization’s leadership, which has labeled what’s going on in Gaza a genocide).
Morale-building
A friend asked me what on earth I’m hoping to accomplish by protesting. “Trump isn’t going to care,” he told me. This is not why we protest. We protest because the first step in fighting back is learning that we are not alone, showing others that they are not alone, and finally, uniting the many who share an abhorrence of the undemocratic, unAmerican, inhumane actions of this regime. As we can see from the dramatic nationwide trend to the left in recent elections, the criminality, chaos and cruelty of this administration is not going unnoticed, no matter how our increasingly-compromised media tries to ignore and minimize.
We’re not giving up. And we will keep trying.
Organize (like these guys!)
Protest

Be nice to each other
“…Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.“
